Gabriela Szlak lectured on Data Privacy, Credit Information Services and Direct Marketing

Gabriela Szlak, who is a faculty member of Torcuato Di Tella Universiry’s Diploma in Law, Technology and Business, lectured on Data Subjects Rights and the data privacy regimen application Credit Information Services and to Advertising and Direct Marketing, on July 14 and August 11, respectively.

The lectures adressed topics such as the privacy challenges posed by credit scorings within the Fintech sector. These scorings, collaborate with financial inclusion by facilitating access to credit to people or companies that do not qualify for traditional bank loans, but at the same time, they are generated through the use of machine learning and big data, which allows users profiling based on the technological footprint they leave when they browse the Internet or use applications. The latest trends in email marketing and the Ad Tech industry, such as Real Time Bidding and the challenges that this industry presents in terms of privacy, were also discussed.

In view of the new business models that depend on the intensive personal data processing , in addition to the legislative changes in data privacy field at a global level, the course aims to introduce students to both the applicable regulations and the demands and challenges that exist in this area.

The Data Privacy course is co-directed by Juan Pablo Altmark and Diego Fernández, and the Diploma in Law, Technology and Business of which the course is part is directed by our partner Celia Lerman.
